When you think of High Tea, scones with jam and cream or a cucumber sandwich comes to mind. Thanks to The Westin Melbourne, High Tea has taken an indulgent and glamorous facelift, bringing you High SocieTea. An event series with a menu featuring luxe ingredients with locally sourced produce and a chef with a passion for thinking outside the square, available until the 13th of October.
Featuring our unique Black Label range, which showcases our enthusiasm and passion for winemaking, and usually only available in our cellar door, we’ve made the exception to have the wines featured at The Westin Melbourne’s High SocieTea. Here is what to expect for the perfect food and wine pairing carefully paired by Master of Wine, Meg Brodtmann.
2019 Blanc de Blanc Sparkling: With the first course: The green apple acidity refreshes the palate and complements the smoky salmon.
2020 Black Label Chardonnay: The complexity of this wine with its savoury oak and white nectarine characters balances the creaminess of the Baked Le Conquérant camembert, lemon thyme and truffles.
2020 Black Label Pinot Noir: The silky tannins of the Pinot Noir and the red berry fruit characters are a lovely contrast to the richness of the nduja cream dish and the lamb.
Black Label Muscat: Layer indulgence on indulgence. Raisiny, luscious Muscat with the decadence of the chocolate – it is like dipping a sultana in chocolate.
