Virtual vertical tasting with Meg Brodtmann, MW
If you tasted a wine, would you know which flavours came from the environment, weather, winemaking or age? Tasting a “vertical” is the best way to learn just that, and we’ve enlisted the best teacher to show you how.
We’ve dug into our museum wines for 3 top vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon to taste and compare. Guiding you through this tasting will be one and only Meg Brodtmann, Master of Wine. Not only does Meg have the highest wine designation any person can earn, but also decades of experience wine making and educating around the world; and far from what you might expect… she’s one of the most down-to-earth people we know.
Meg will guide you through a tasting of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 vintages of Rob Dolan White Label Cabernet Sauvignon. You’ll learn how vintage conditions impacted each wine, which flavours are as a result of age, how to pair cabernet with food, and how to tell which wines are worth cellaring. She can also answer any other burning questions you have about wine generally, or her experience undertaking what might be the world’s hardest exam!
