Christmas 2022 -what to eat + drink!

Christmas is a time for celebration with family and friends and what better way to celebrate than over delicious food and wine.  With so much on offer, I thought I might make your food and wine pairings easier by offering a few suggestions.

At your Christmas gathering this year, why not start lunch with gin-soaked gravlax blinis, piles of prawns and parmesan biscuits with our 2021 Black Label Blanc de Blanc.  The sparkle of the wine and its green apple acidity makes the wine so refreshing and cleansing on your palate.  Our new True Colours Cuvée Rosé would work equally as well here.

Traditional Christmas lunch usually has so may offerings that it is impossible to have one wine to hand.  Our 2020 Black Label Chardonnay has crisp acidity and red apple flavours which make it a good match with roast pork.  For the red lovers amongst you, the 2020 True Colours Casa di Rosso has the savoury tannin structure to cut through the rich meat and will work double duty served with a pumpkin and cheddar strata (for your vegetarian brethren).  If you serve turkey, our 2019 White Label Shiraz will be your go-to wine.  The peppery spice and the plummy notes of the Shiraz both contrast and complement the flavour of the turkey and any stuffing you may have used.

Our Two Barrel Muscat was made to be served with plum pudding – raisined berry fruit meets Christmas spice.  Either drink it from a glass or pour it over your pudding!  It may not flambé like brandy but it will taste out of this world.

Whatever you choose to eat this holiday period, we hope a glass of a Rob Dolan wine is by your side.  We wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas!  Enjoy!
