2023 White Label Pinot Gris

What started as a mishap has become our signature style. Years ago, our Pinot Gris spent some unplanned time on skins, resulting in a beautiful colour, and a richer texture. We still follow this technique (with a little more precision!) today, making our iconic blush Pinot Gris. A sure favourite, this wine suits all palates and is great with or without food.

The 2023 vintage was a cooler vintage thanks to the La Niña phenomenon. This has translated to lovely acid and bright fresh fruit characters in the wines.

Wine Notes

Colour: a touch of blush naturally derived from Pinot Gris skins
Aroma: nashi pear, white peach, apple
Palate: cantaloupe, nectarine, oily texture

Vineyard: a blend of lower Yarra Valley vineyards
Harvest: March 2023
Method: hand and machine-harvested


Process: 12 hours on skins post crushing to allow juice to pick up natural colour from the skins
Fermentation: 20% in barrel on light solids, 80% fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures
Oak: 30% new French oak, 9 months
Alcohol: 13.2%
