rob dolan black label chardonnay

BLACK LABEL CHARDONNAY

Italian for little rascal (and rightly so!) this grape which originates in the Piedmont region in Italy is tough to grow, but worth the reward.

Smell: slate, orange blossom, lemon sherbet
Taste: apricot kernel, waxy white flowers, and a great texture
Drink: now! But you can hold it for up to 8 years
Great for: Yum Cha, a cheese platter, or rich foods.
Nutrition: Vegan, 83 calories per 120ml glass

Made from grapes at Yarra Valley’s Murramong Vineyard by Rob Dolan, Adrian Santolin + the team.

The grapes were crushed, destemmed and cold settled overnight. Racked to barrel with light solids for barrel ferment, matured on lees for 9 months prior to bottling.

Rob Dolan is known for his skill in the winery, passion for helping others, and cheeky character.

He says the trick is sourcing the best fruit, and from there, using a ‘less is more’ approach in the winery to bring the wine it to its full expression.
