Grab your Rob Dolan beanie and a blanket; it’s cosy season and we’re here with the perfect wines to match.

A Huddle Club favourite is the 2018 Arneis (we love that you drink outside the box!) so that’s how we’re kicking you off for winter. Tight, mineral and textural, it’s your perfect partner to keep your palate fresh as you move into the richest of foods – we’re talking fondue, raclette and carbonara! Your other partner in crime with this food will be our brand new Sauvignon Blanc – you get the first look at the 2020, and it’s looking very good!

The next new release is the 2020 Pinot Gris. The thing we love about wine is the difference each vintage can bring, and this shows in our latest Pinot Gris. It’s still got the signature blush colour you know and love, but with a little more subtlety. It’s got a banging acid line and gorgeous citrus notes to add to the mix. You’ll also be cheering with the brand-new Pinot Noir which is a reflection of the sterling 2019 vintage conditions.  Plush and bursting with the red fruits you expect from Pinot Noir.

Going camping or lighting a fire out the back? The 2017 True Colours Cabernet Shiraz Merlot will be your best friend. Rich enough for a winter’s night but smooth enough that you don’t need food, the CSM will carry you through any fire-side occasion.

Lastly – the one you’ve all been waiting for – what we’ve dug out of the cellar this season. The 2014 Cabernet is just starting to show some development.  Starting out with pure blackcurrant pastille, the wine opens up to show complexing flavours of cedar and tobacco.  Let this one sit open for a while before indulging – it is worth the wait.

In a nutshell…

  • The 2018 Arneis is citrus-forward, steely and mineral
  • The 2020 True Colours Sauvignon Blanc is textured and aromatic, tasting of passionfruit and citrus
  • The 2020 White Label Pinot Gris is fresh and clean with grapefruit notes
  • The 2020 White Label Pinot Noir is plush and bursting with red fruits
  • The 2017 Truce Colours Cabernet Shiraz Merlot is smooth and easy drinking
  • The 2014 Cabernet is structured, and showing beautiful development
