Marsanne is an unsung hero in Victorian wine, originally from the Rhone Valley in France. Like chardonnay, it can take many forms, and can age a treat. Expect to taste honeysuckle, citrus blossom and hazelnut, and pay attention to the lovely oily texture.
This will become your summer wine – chill it down and enjoy it with soba noodles and tempura prawns. We recommend buying a cheeky half dozen and hiding it away, as this Marsanne will undoubtedly mature in to something wonderful and complex.
