“In contrast to the warm and compact growing season of 2016, Vintage 2017 saw a return to more traditional con-ditions. A cool and wet spring delayed budburst and flowering and consequently we had a later start to harvest in early March. Some truly ideal weather followed with about three to four weeks of blue skies and temperatures in the high 20’s with no heat spikes. The even temperatures, cool nights and long ripening period provided us with some excellent fruit across all varieties.” Rob Dolan – Winemaker.

Colour: deep crimson purple
Aroma: blackcurrant, forest fruits, bay leaf + cedar
Palate: juicy dark fruits, mocha, balance, complexity + fine tannins
Cellar: up to 10 years

Vineyard: Yering Park Vineyard, Yering + Yarraland, Chirnside Park
Harvest: 7-8th April 2017
Method: hand harvested


Process: crushed + destemmed, fermented in open pots
Fermentation: cold soaked prior to fermentation in open pots. Inoculated with Bordeaux yeast strain, pumped over twice daily, pressed off after 14 days on skins
Barrel: matured in new (30%) + seasoned French hogsheads for 16 months
Alcohol: 14.5%
